Changing the way we look at the world
Where does love come from?

I would suggest to you that we know God exists because there is love.
If this universe is NOT the result of the creative act of the God of love,
then what Richard Dawkins said is true:

The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but pitiless indifference.

Dawkins tells what life is like in a universe without love.
We all intuitively know that Dawkins is wrong.
The universe can seem to be a pitiless place and life can be hard, but the material universe is not all that there is.
There is love. People love each other and care about each other.
There is love because the person who made the universe is the God who is love.
And we are made in His image, so we are able to love and know love.
We were made to know love.
We can know love because God is love.
We can know love because the God who is love, sent a saviour, who loved us to the end.
That saviour is Jesus.
This is what Jesus said and what the Apostle John wrote down.

For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son,
so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life

You can read it in John’s gospel chapter 3 verse 16.

Because Jesus the Son of God loves me, He took my sin and died in my place on the cross.
That means that I can be forgiven and born from above.
More than that I can be a child of God and know His love and have eternal life.
God has shown us His love and now we can know real love, not just while here on this earth but forever.
